From Insurance Adjuster to Insuring a Motorcycle

Find out everything from an Insurance Adjuster to insuring your motorcycle. This site covers many different aspects of insurance and gives advice on how you might get the best deal for your money when taking out insurance.

So what is an insurance adjuster?

If you have a claim, especially a commercial one where substantial amounts of money are involved, an insurance adjuster could be employed to handle the claims procedure on your behalf. In a typical situation, the adjuster would be remunerated on a percentage of the claim received, although this is something that you would need to clear up before you engage the services of an adjuster.

An adjuster would review your policy and advise you what you could expect from a claim. In some cases, dealing with an insurance claim could be a traumatic job, and an adjuster could deal with each case objectively.

In more usual cases, in car accidents for example, an adjuster is someone who would examine the scene, the damage to the vehicle, roadside conditions and evidence, and, ultimately, the person would would authorise your payment.

At the time of Hurricane Katrina, some 10,000 Insurance Adjusters were deployed in the Gulf states alone. Anyone who had the misfortune of needing to deal with an insurance adjuster under these circumstances, would probably have found that their case was dealt with very quickly. With so many claims to handle, and most of them the same or similar, and insurance adjuster would by necessity, do all they could to expedite the claims as quickly as possible.
